#1 Completion. If Deckard’s first name was Delroy, Vangelis would have had to extract this bit of majesty from a cloud of ganja smoke over New Kingston. I’m still floating. 4.5/5 matchstick men with boners.
#2 Instant head knock factors highly in this remix of a wet dream I had when I was 14. Peek under the carpet of thick basses and randy vocals and the remnant impression of the source material is just barely there, a palimpsest of quietly stabbed funk. 4/5 socks that stand up on their own.
#3 This confrontational beat is my older sister mushing me in the forehead and the dimension in which I grew up in the bronx with a Puerto Rican dad -who also happened to be an acclaimed b-boy- comes clearly into focus. 4/5 memories/dreams.
#4 However well I can attune my ears, it will not stop. I, Hermeades XV, a ‘male’ sentient Humanoid manufactured during the protocletatious period 23477 AD, have had this insufferable racket caught in a acerbic loop in my experiential circuits for the last 78 years. First the sound immobilized me, second it froze my emotion chip, leaving me perpetually ‘unbemused’. But the worst indignity is the horrid prison of its auditory signature, unending, undying. If you find this note, please, kindly take that pipe on the other side of this basement and cram it through my ‘skull’. .0002 flooded brothels out of 5.

this track makes me believe that parents don’t know anything. it makes me want to hang out at the mall in minneapolis and drink orange juliuses in a jean jacket with a fro hawk. it stinks of teen angst, marlboro reds and malibu rum. it is eternal mood. i give it a solid 4 Molly Ringwalds out of 5.
entry #2
this song nailed my sister, never called her again then told the whole football team that he made it with her and that she was easy. her room still smells like basketball shorts, sweat and stay sta•sof•fro. i give it 4.5 Unibrows out of 5.

this one has a 72 cutlass and hangs out in front of Jah record store in negril. the jamaican constabulary force are on to him, but he keeps 8 degrees of segregation between himself and his hustle. Will our man ever escape babylon and claim king of the dancehall? 3.5 bumbas out of 5 clots.
entry #4
This track just shot up with the negro jazz musicians and decided to experiment. Things veered of course when the drummer made a pass at the organist but they held it together. 3.5 dental dams out of 5.
Agreed this was a tough one. I may have to rethink my cunning stratagem to trip you up with terrible source choices…
#1 – the very top is like waking up to a bowl of cold oatmeal. thankfully it heats up. I’m mind-javeling through until the end, when it slaps me with a full throated bellows to the gods above Oaxaca. 4 out of 5 George LopeZzzzzzz’s…
#2 – tight! sounds like you isolated some of the bass rhythms from the track? the additional vocals blend in well. the stutter beats are on point. this is the song they play at the end of the Mayweather biopic if he was played by Webster. I’m seeing a lot of skewed type in the credits. 4.5 out of 5 George Forearm’s..
#3 – ‘groovy’ is a good word here. great job sussing out the melodies and building something new. but then it just ends! the spacey stuff halfway is a cool switch up. I feel like I’m watching an oceans 11 heist montage set in pre-WorldWarThree Morocco. But I want to hear how the heist turned out. 3.6667 out of 5 George Clooooonie’s
#4 – Like I’m walking down a tunnel, a half-story underground, flooded with neon, headed to a dead-end room to do BadTings™. All I know is there a whif of coconut oil in the air, and a faint echo of ‘Tha Chronic’ playing somewhere above. I could see this used as the music for a compilation of ‘Room’ bloopers. 3 out of 5 George R.R.R.R.R. Martini’s
–Well done gentleman–
Entry #1 – This one slaps! Making something new out of a sample track already lush full of rhythm was a tough code to crack. Deconstructed the shit out of this sample. I love how all the various parts were used to build up fills and change ups. The mix is really smooth AF too. It sounds like Blockhead or Bonobo could have made it.
Is that flute from a different version of the song? It’s a really great bit that adds some human touch to it. This one is my favorite considering how it repurposed so many parts of the original and made it fresh.
4.5/5 Smooth ass Lando Calrissians

Entry #3 – A little boom bap never hurt nobody. This feels like a car chase sequence. Dusty ashtrays and half smoked cigarettes. Mix is a bit raw but would love to see what kind of variations or embellishments get built into it.
3.5 out of 5 Killa tapes, God

Entry#4 – Portishead vibes. Sample gets a sinister twist. Really enjoying the Cali-synth counterpart that emerges. Sounds very raw. Would love to see where this one goes as well.
3 Chris Cunningham nightmares out of 5.
